It’s been a bear of a week but I still managed to finish my Catskill Merino Triangle Shawl! Wooo! I needed some comfort knitting.
The pattern is a basic garter stitch triangle that I fancied up with some stripes and short rows. The solid colors are ‘work even’ stripes and the speckles are the short row sections. Initially, I was only going to use one solid color but I ended up throwing in some celadon stripes. I wasn’t sure they were working but in the end, I’m not mad at them. Probably because I just can’t be mad at this yarn ever. It’s so perfect!
I love this yarn a lot. It’s a real treat to work with. It’s got the best wooly elasticity and spring to it. It’s lightweight and oh so warm. It’s so squishy and lovely. It’s got spring and bounce. It’s the real hero of this FO.
It’s from a farm in upstate NY, so near and dear to my heart in that regard as well. It’s got all the best qualities of wool. Check them out here… Catskill Merino. Yes, I think I’ll be ordering a sweater quantity. They’ve got lots of color options that are all very wearable, nice and earthy.
I did a little retail therapy today too…bought cotton?? I’m going to crochet with it…a quiet book, for my nephew. Should be interesting. And with all this finishing lately, it’s time for some casting on! I’m so glad the weekend is here. I’m not upset about locking myself into my apartment with my yarn this weekend. Hope you guys all get some crafty, relaxation time too!
It looks great!

Ooh, I love that idea! May have to copy this triangle idea, I love the idea of off-centre things :)

Oh now it is lovely! Your face,(I’m no body language expert but..) says you’re not sure. What I notice is the Amazon boxes. We all are being inundated with them as Jeff Bezos becomes richer by the minute. I’m so happy on recycle day when the trash company hauls them all away! Happy knitting my friend!

Those boxes make me crazy! My apartment building is full for the first time since I moved in nearly 20 years ago. The new neighbors are all amazon junkies. 12 apartments and we manage to get 10 boxes a day. If I actually want my recycling to fit in the bin, I have to take it out within a few hours of it being emptied. It’s a whole thing and it kinda makes me crazy.

I was particularly annoyed that I had to climb through all those boxes to get to the mirror. I wouldn’t mind so much except these people apparently just order stuff for fun…it sits in the hall for several days before they even pick it up?!?
