The Rhinebeck Sweater got lots of love yesterday! Not only do I have half a sleeve already but I found the perfect brown zipper!
Fast forward to 2 am, when that feeling of accomplishment convinced me I could whip up a pair of toddler mitts in no time at all! I’m officially downgrading to I can whip up a single toddler mitt with middling success in no time at all.
I think they’re too big. Gauge, what? And I’m not sold on the eyes either. I like them better in the picture but they’re kind of creepy in person. Feel free to share opinions!
That sweater is going to be done with time to spare! I like the mitts but agree with you about the eyes. What pattern are you using?

It’s a free Rav download called Ruru. I’m definitely just using it as a guideline, I’ve changed just about all the row counts. LOL!

Maybe select some different eyes that aren’t so…. soul stealing?

I’ve got some black beads too…maybe I’ll make the second one with black eyes, if it’s a big improvement that’ll probably motivate me to change then first one!

Love your sweater, and it is going so well. Wow!
Your owlies are cute, and perfect. Maybe use a flat eye, like a tiny button? They are still pretty. Love it.

Most people use buttons and they are perfect! It gives the owls a lot more dimension and personality. I choose beads because I feel like they’re more secure than something sewn on. That was when I thought they’d be going on tiny hands. They turned out adult size…probably don’t need to worry about choking hazards anymore! LOL!

:-) Love them. Makes much more sense to use beads as well when you don’t want them to come off. Super cute!
