Today’s WIP is being shared to keep me on track! The current WIP count is 9! I finished two things in the past few days and only started one! I’m patting myself on the back for showing such restraint! But things still get lost in the shuffle and this project, I really want to finish! I started it on Christmas day. It’s currently 49 days old! Now that you’ve seen it, I can’t pretend it doesn’t exist. I would hate to let you down like that, I know you’ll be waiting for the exciting conclusion!
According the pattern, it was supposed to take two hours. Ha! I’m not giving up though! It’s ultimately going to be a market bag…very useful around here!
I’ve got market bags but this one is destined to be my favorite. It’ll have a nice wide, soft handle so it won’t dig into my hands as I carry it. It’s got a lovely lace panel that will stretch when it’s loaded up. The lace has been kind to me, not mocking me with horrible glaring errors, but accepting them and moving forward as if all was perfectly in place. None of this is why it’s going to be my favorite though.
No, it’s going to be my favorite because the yarn was hand dyed just for me, by my Mom! She nailed my color palate exactly! She’s got a great eye for color and she’s recently developed a taste for dying yarn after cutting her teeth on tie dye! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next…this is just the beginning!
Beautiful colours! That’s awesome that your mom dyed it. Looking forward to seeing the finished bag.
